First steps of creating my website……

Firslty i created the main page for my project. This page is where the user will enter the website from.

 

Firstly i divided the page into 3 columns and 1 row and then started inserting the features and functions. I chose a logo which i would use throughout my websie. I inserted the logo by firstly saving it to my documents then in dreamweaver; going onto INSERT and IMAGE to put in the Logo on the main page.

After having done this i decided to do my background, i tried and viewed inserting a picture as my background but thought it was better if i just chose a single colour for my background as the context of the website would stand out more and look more attractive.

 

Inserting a Jump menu……

On one of my webpages i wanted to insert a jump menu. This would be used to insert external links on my webpage. A jumpmenu allows you to get a drpo down option box to navigate to other webpages. As we needed to insert 3 external links i used the jumpmenu to link the external websites.
To insert a jumpenu you would go on INSERT, FORM and JUMPMENU. A window will appear and you would under the menu items insert the number of options you want under the jumpenu. Under text you would give it a label whatever you want ot call the link, under URL you would copy the external website’s URL into this box and by pressing OK you should have a jump menu.

Linking the web pages to each other…….

After having created a few webpages, now i needed to link them with each other. To do this i needed to firsly insert a flash button. this is because the button would be the link beteween the 2 webpages thus clicking on the button would take you to that specific page. To do this you go on INSERT, MEDIA, FLASH BUTTON. Then a window will appear,

you would choose the style of button, then where it says link, you would select the place where you have saved the webpage you are wanting the button to go to. Under target select self and choose background colour.
